I am a 52-year-old female seeking to lose approximately 30–40 pounds, which would place me in the upper range of my healthy weight category. I began treatment with semaglutide through Rachel Schmidt at Vitality Medical Spa in October 2025. While on semaglutide, I experienced a noticeable reduction in appetite and “food noise,” which resulted in a weight loss of approximately 8 pounds over a three-month period. It is important to note that this weight loss was achieved without modifications to diet or physical activity and occurred during two major holiday periods.
Challenges during treatment included ensuring adequate protein intake—an area in which Rachel has been very supportive by providing guidance and suggestions—as well as experiencing mild gastrointestinal side effects such as acid reflux, gas, mild constipation and sulfur burping.
Given the slower pace of weight loss, I have elected to transition to tirzepatide, which is also offered through Vitality Medical Spa. Although I was initially hesitant due to the increased cost, I have since learned that this medication may provide more effective outcomes. Additionally, its use has been recommended by my physician to support improvement in my sleep apnea. At this time, my insurance has declined coverage for GLP-1 medications; therefore, I am grateful that Rachel is able to offer a more affordable treatment option.
Following my first dose on Friday, January 23, I have already noticed positive changes. Gastrointestinal side effects have decreased significantly, and I am feeling well overall. At this early stage, the reduction in “food noise” appears comparable to my previous experience; however, it is important to note that I am currently on the lowest dosage. I am very hopeful that I will get the results that I want, and I will continue to update my progress weekly.

This week, I increased my dosage from 10 to 15. I did not notice any significant changes aside from continued weight loss. I lost 3 pounds this week; however, it was a challenging week due to a mild stomach illness and a family emergency. Because of these circumstances, I am uncertain whether the weight loss can be directly attributed to the GLP-1 medication or to situational factors.
That said, the weight loss is encouraging. I have now lost a total of 15 pounds over the past six months, 11 of which have occurred since starting the GLP-1 in October. Overall, I continue to feel well.

It appears I was correct in questioning last week’s weight loss, as I regained 1.5 pounds this week. I have continued on the 15 dosage, which I understand is still considered a very low dose. This Friday will be my final injection at this level before increasing to a higher dosage.
I recognize that this gradual titration is intended to minimize side effects, and I am pleased to report that I have not experienced any significant adverse effects. I am hopeful that as I reach a therapeutic dosage, I will begin to see more consistent changes in my weight.
The reduction in “food noise” remains noticeable, and my eating habits have improved compared to before starting the medication. Moving forward, I plan to incorporate more physical activity into my daily routine to evaluate its impact on my overall progress.
